1st session: 10am-12:00pm ET
Lunch: 12:00pm-1:00pm ET (We’re throwers, of course lunch is on us)
2nd session: 1:00pm-3pm ET
Athletes can expect to learn power position, proper release of implement, glide technique or rotational technique, technique drills, agility/plyometric drills. Returning campers or more experienced campers can expect to work on finer details and problem areas in their technique.

Southridge Throwing Camp

2026-USATF Region 7 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships
QUALIFICATION
To qualify for the Region 7 Championships, Indiana athletes must first compete at the USATF Indiana Junior Olympic Championships (June 12-13; Marion, IN)
ADVANCEMENTS (to National Championships)
The 2026 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships will be held July 27 - August 2 in Norwalk, CA
Qualification from the Region 7 Championships to the National Championships:
Top 5 in each individual event and relay event/age division
Top 2 in each Combined Events competition (plus any additional athletes meeting the combined event performance standards (see below).
Note on qualifying to the National Championships in the Race Walk Events: At the National Championships, athletes will be disqualified during the race if they do not finish by the following time standards.
1500 Race Walk (Boys and Girls)
9-10 - 12:10
11-12 - 11:10
3000 Race Walk (Boys and Girls)
13-14 - 22:00
15-16 - 21:10
17-18 - 21:10
In 2026, qualifying for the National Championships for the Race Walk events will be the top 2 plus any others meeting new time standards.
Vincennes University Throwing Camp

2026-Indiana-Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships
If you plan on competing as a Midwest Throws team member and we haven’t talked about you competing this year. Please get with us asap to register for this years Indiana USATF Junior Olympics meet.
ADVANCEMENTS (to Region 7 Championships)
The USATF Region 7 Junior Olympic Championships will be contested July 9-12, 2026, at Indiana State, Terre Haute, Indiana.
The top 12 in each individual and relay event/age division at the Indiana championships qualify for the Region 7 Championships.
Combined events will not be contested at the Indiana Association championships. Athletes interested in competing in the combined events in the Junior Olympic program must first enter the Indiana Championships, and then they will be advanced directly to the Region 7 Championships.
